Dewberry is seeking a Project Manager for their Raleigh office to lead MEPS Infrastructure teams in designing electrical, mechanical, and structural systems for water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and over 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in the water/wastewater market.

You will manage teams, prepare project proposals, and ensure client satisfaction while promoting innovative solutions in sustainable infrastructure.

  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.

Key Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 5+ years in the water/wastewater market.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, or Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.
Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical, mechanical, and structural design teams on a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public utility and private clients.
  • Manage planning, design, and construction phase projects while interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.
  • Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan, and assign appropriate personnel.
  • Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to the MEPS Infrastructure project team and client, both internal and external.
  • Prepare design proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.
  • Employ earned value and quality management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedule, and budget. Oversee deliverable submission and ensure coordination through all disciplines and consultants involved.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of MEPS Infrastructure by attending conferences, supporting articles and professional publications, and actively participating in state and/or national professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.

  • 8+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 5+ years in the water/wastewater market.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, or Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Experience interfacing with clients.
  • Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, with good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems with general knowledge of applicable codes, national standards, water/wastewater equipment and plant operation, space requirements, and cost.
