Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical, mechanical, and structural design teams on a variety of water/wastewater infrastructure projects for public utilities and private clients.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction phase projects while coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.
  • Collaborate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan, and assign appropriate personnel.
  • Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to the MEPS Infrastructure project team and clients (both internal and external).
  • Prepare design proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.
  • Employ earned‑value and quality‑management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedules, and budgets. Oversee deliverable submission and coordinate through all disciplines and consultants involved.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of MEPS Infrastructure by attending conferences, supporting professional publications, and actively participating in state and/or national professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 5+ years in the water/wastewater market.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them within 90 days of start date through reciprocity.
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Experience interfacing with clients.
  • Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, with good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems and general knowledge of applicable codes, national standards, water/wastewater equipment, plant operation, space requirements, and cost.
