Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate electrical commercial projects for a portfolio of active sites. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, billing mechanisms, and project controls to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires strong contract negotiation, risk management, and team leadership; you’ll review contracts, co-operate with owners and subs, and drive profitability through predictive analysis, cost tracking,

Qualifications

  • BS in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of electrical commercial construction experience with an electrical contractor.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational, critical-thinking, judgment, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools required for electrical construction.
  • Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Firm knowledge of and fluency in estimating.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate construction operations, purchases, financial reporting, and project controls for a portfolio of concurrent electrical projects.
  • Participate in proposals, procurement, contract negotiations, project operations, and financial performance management.
  • Review project contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions with owners, architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare project controls, budgets, schedules of values, and billing mechanisms.
  • Execute major project purchases, product data submittals, shop drawings, material releases, and supply-chain issue mitigation.
  • Manage project profitability through predictive analysis and revenue, cost, and profit forecasting.
  • Evaluate construction methods and cost-effectiveness; address delays, bad weather, and emergencies.
  • Develop and implement project quality-control programs.
  • Manage project closeout procedures, documentation, record drawings, cost database input, marketing follow-up, and team debriefing.
  • Visit projects regularly to assess performance, progress, quality, field connectivity, and client relationships.
  • Execute and manage billing and support positive project cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company and owner safety and environmental policies.
  • Prepare construction budgets and oversee progress and cost reports.
  • Coordinate payroll, material/subcontractor payments, and owner progress and final payments with corporate support functions.
  • Develop relationships with clients, architectural and engineering firms, peers, and trade partners.
  • Supervise project staff and provide coaching and counseling to field supervision.
  • Negotiate and resolve issues involving change orders, requests for information, and contract scope of work.
