Job summary

Hester Street seeks an experienced urban planner, designer and/or community development professional to plan, manage and implement community-driven planning and development projects in New York City and nationwide. The role demands 7–10 years of work experience and strong analytical and strategic thinking at both micro and macro levels.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of full-time planning, architecture and/or community development experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or related field.
• Proficiency with InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 1–3 Project Managers and/or Project Associates.
• Raise and address opportunities at the intersection of vision and program/projects to drive innovation.
• Identify new lines of work and assist with grant writing, project reporting and public speaking.
