Your Opportunity

Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in South Florida has an opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Project Manager. Your role as Senior Project Manager – Community Development is to manage the design and delivery of projects and to maintain relations with current and future clients within our community development business line. Typical projects include private and public sector projects: office, retail, hospitality, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments as well as local governmental projects.

The ideal candidate will come with a background supporting or leading the civil/site engineering aspects for various projects, with strong engineering/design skills. Exposure to the entire project delivery process, including marketing/business development, client interaction, project management, internal team building, and hands-on design/engineering supervision, is essential.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Pursuing and winning new clients and projects.
• Organizing and leading project-related meetings and presentations.
• Coordinating with clients, team members, and sub-consultants, and preparing detailed scope/fee proposals.
• Performing planning activities, including initial project research, feasibility assessments, and providing input on civil engineering issues.
• Leading all aspects of civil engineering design, including layout, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control. Projects may include land development, roadway/intersection design, stormwater modeling, hydraulic modeling, and preparation of construction plans and reports.
• Preparing submission packages, calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and facilitating agency reviews.
• Supervising construction phase support services, including bidding, field inspections, and certifications.
• Monitoring project progress, staffing, budgets, and keeping clients informed of status and challenges.
• Sourcing, attracting, and developing new staff.
• Planning and executing QA/QC plans for projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Successful project track record and established network in South Florida land development and A/E/C community.
• Experience with private and public sector projects, including office, retail, hospitality, commercial, residential, and governmental projects, with ability to coordinate entire project efforts.
• Leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, including presentations to regulatory bodies.
• Community involvement and local engagement are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, permitting, and project approval processes.
• Ability to identify technical issues early and initiate corrective actions.
• Attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet budgets and schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HydroCAD, PondPack.
• Project management and business development experience, with a focus on expanding client base and innovating project solutions.
• Understanding of contract administration, scope definition, negotiation, and financial management.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 15 years of relevant civil/site or land development engineering and project management experience.
• Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.

Position primarily in an office setting, with some field work as needed.
