This position is within the Technical Services Division of the Office of the County Engineer (OCE), supporting the Design Services Group, the Special Projects Team, and the Outfall Emergency Program. The Senior Project Manager will manage engineering and infrastructure projects, focusing on emergency outfall maintenance, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing emergency outfall maintenance activities to ensure safety and compliance.
2. Conducting hydrological and hydraulic studies for stormwater outfall structures.
3. Defining project scopes, timelines, and resources.
4. Managing budgets, staffing, and schedules.
5. Serving as the primary communication link among stakeholders.
6. Overseeing design and construction phases of projects.
7. Addressing project challenges proactively.
8. Responding to urgent issues and supporting emergency operations.
9. Reporting project progress and technical findings.
10. Providing expertise in hydraulics and hydrology to internal teams and the public.
11. Developing standards and specifications for stormwater infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, or related field.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in stormwater infrastructure design and construction.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and environmental considerations.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., SWMM, HY-8).
• Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to operate a county vehicle.
