Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking a Project Manager 3 (PM3) to lead design and construction projects across campus facilities, from initiation through design, construction, and warranty phases.

The role requires 8+ years in design and construction, preferably as an owner's representative in an institutional setting, with strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management capabilities to deliver complex college projects.

Qualifications

• Eight years related work experience providing project management of design and/or construction activities for renovations and new construction of institutional or commercial facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, or Engineering.
• Master’s degree and PM certification are preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification or safety credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establishes project scope requirements; evaluates alternatives; prepares budget estimates.
• Prepares initial project scope, budget, and delivery schedule; secures project funding and vendors; prepares and negotiates contracts.
• Presents and reviews proposed solutions with department representatives, design consultants, and service vendors to ensure project scope meets client needs.
• Directs, manages, and tracks the overall design and construction phases to meet the established scope, budget and schedule.
• Coordinates and supports emergency response when emergencies occur on active construction projects; communicates with ACC, contractors, vendors.
• Maintains current building codes, design guidelines, and construction standards.
