Job summary

Murdock Solon Architects, a NYC/Portland-based design studio, seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead design and production on commercial, residential, and hospitality projects. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with partners, consultants, and vendors, and oversee construction drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate has 8–15 years of architecture experience, strong AutoCAD, Rhino/SketchUp and Adobe skills, and a track record of managing budgets, schedules, and client

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related field with 8–15 years experience.
• Proficient AutoCAD, Rhino or SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
• Understanding of team communications and drawing standards.
• Strong communication with vendors, contractors and consultants.
• Ability to develop interior palettes and client presentations.
• Experience with product sourcing and purchasing coordination is a plus.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized in a collaborative studio.
• Knowledge of NYC DOT, LPC or Building Management approval processes.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Job description

Murdock Solon Architects, based in NYC, NY/Portland, ME, a 12-person design firm is seeking a Senior Project Manger to take on key responsibilities within a growing practice. This is a full-time position with growth potential, working on our current commercial/residential projects assisting partners and associates.

MSA is a full-service architectural and interior firm. Our recent works include townhouse renovations, creative offices, art galleries, high-end residential, and ground-up commercial and hospitality projects.

Also, the candidate should have the following requirements.

• Degree in Architecture, or related fields, with 8 to 15 years experience
• Excellent AutoCAD, Rhino or Sketch up, and Adobe Suite skills
• Understanding of team communications and construction drawing standards
• Strong communication skills with outside vendors, contractors, and consultants
• Talent/ability to select and develop interior palettes and create concept materials for client and internal presentations
• Experience with / interest product sourcing (plumbing fixtures, appliances, furniture, door hardware, lighting, etc). Experience with purchasing coordination is a plus
• Self-motivation and self-discipline in a collaborative studio environment, ability to organize
• Knowledge of approval process including NYC DOT, LPC or Building Management
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Prior experience with hospitality interiors, residential interiors and/or purchasing a plus
• Must reside within New York City commutable region
