Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager based in the Carolinas to lead complex manufacturing programs within our Advanced Manufacturing practice. You will translate production intent into layouts and capital projects, guiding design-build delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and client satisfaction, with a focus on Lean principles and handover to operations. This is a high-impact, on-site role requiring U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field plus 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years managing design or design-build delivery of manufacturing facilities or demonstrated equivalency.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial projects of $100 million or greater
• Demonstrated Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Delivery Experience
• Due to the nature of the job, United States Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager on manufacturing facility projects of $100M+; own scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction.
• Primary interface between clients and AECOM’s design and design-build teams.
• Translate client production intent into actionable layouts, material flows, and deliverable capital projects, applying Lean where they add value.
• Lead pursuits, fee and negotiations for design-build delivery; Manage subcontractor contracts and scope.
• Manage project financials, including NSR, margin, forecasting, invoicing and change orders.
• Integrate process and equipment requirements with architecture, MEP, process utilities and civil.
• Guide industrial engineering scope (layout, material flow, throughput, automation) with Lean and Six Sigma processes highly desirable.
• Lead and mentor project teams, coordinate Architectural and Engineering disciplines and work-share with AECOM design centers.
• Lead commissioning, start-up and turnover, including tool installation and production ramp.
• Champion safety: embed EHS and constructability in design and uphold AECOM Safety for Life standards on site.
