Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of a portfolio of utility-scale gas transmission and distribution projects. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk to optimize client service and financial performance.

Qualifications include 5+ years in gas utility project management, a engineering degree (preferred), and certifications such as PE or PMP (preferred).

• 5+ years of increasing experience in the Gas Utility Industry with a minimum of 5 years in project management for Gas Transmission and/or Distribution projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred but not required).
• Professional licensure or certifications (PE and PMP) are preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of financial management and multi-disciplinary program management.

Responsibilities

• Leads planning and implementation of medium-large gas infrastructure initiatives of varying complexity.
• Supports business development through scope, fee development, proposals, interviews, and contract development.
• Defines project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists, and progress milestones after award.
• Meets with client management to resolve issues and obtain approvals at project completion.
• Maintains ongoing client relationships as part of business development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements and teams.
• Manages day-to-day project activities, including Clients and Project Teams.
• Aims to achieve project objectives related to scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Analyzes project performance and resource utilization; identifies potential out-of-scope work.
• Manages contract changes and negotiates change orders.
• Identifies and manages project risk from proposal to project duration.
• Trains, mentors, and oversees other Project Managers and participates in reviews.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide planning, management, and overall execution of a portfolio of utility scale gas transmission and distribution projects. This includes managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality and financial performance on large, complex and challenging projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning and implementation of medium-large critical gas infrastructure initiatives ranging in complexity.
• Supports business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development.
• Reviews assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points.
• Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion.
• Maintains a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams.
• Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Analyzes project performance and resource utilization.
• Identifies potential out of scope work.
• Manages, and negotiates contract change orders.
• Identifies and manages project risk from the proposal phase through the duration of the project.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of increasing experience in the Gas Utility Industry with a minimum of 5 years in project management for Gas Transmission and/or Distribution projects.
• Bachelors of Science in engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred but not required)
• PE (preferred but not required).
• PMP (preferred but not required).
• Firm understanding of financial management.
• Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing large multi-discipline programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.
• Thorough understanding of various types of gas infrastructure projects (transmission, distribution).
• Strong skills in relationship development and management.
