Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide planning, management, and execution of a portfolio of utility scale gas transmission and distribution projects. This role oversees scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk to optimize client service and financial performance.

Responsibilities include leading project planning, managing budgets and staffing, engaging with clients, reviewing performance, and negotiating changes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the Gas Utility Industry with PM experience on gas transmission/distribution projects.
• Bachelors in engineering is preferred.
• PE and PMP are preferred but not required.
• Strong financial management understanding and multi-discipline program experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement medium-large gas infrastructure initiatives with oversight.
• Support business development through scoping, proposals, and contracts.
• Define scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and progress billing points.
• Meet clients to resolve issues and obtain approvals at project completion.
• Maintain ongoing relationships for business development.
• Coordinate project engagements and manage day-to-day activities.
• Achieve objectives on quality, scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Analyze performance and resource utilization; identify out-of-scope work.
• Manage contract changes and assess project risk from start to finish.
• Mentor other PMs and participate in portfolio/project reviews.

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Project Manager in our Program Management organization. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide planning, management, and overall execution of a portfolio of utility scale gas transmission and distribution projects. This includes managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality and financial performance on large, complex and challenging projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning and implementation of medium-large critical gas infrastructure initiatives ranging in complexity.
• Supports business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development.
• Reviews assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points.
• Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project's completion.
• Maintains a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams.
• Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Analyzes project performance and resource utilization.
• Identifies potential out of scope work.
• Manages, and negotiates contract change orders.
• Identifies and manages project risk from the proposal phase through the duration of the project.
• Trains, mentors, and oversees other Project Managers and conducts/participates in portfolio and project reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of increasing experience in the Gas Utility Industry with a minimum of 5 years in project management for Gas Transmission and/or Distribution projects.
• Bachelors of Science in engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred but not required)
• PE (preferred but not required).
• PMP (preferred but not required).
• Firm understanding of financial management.
• Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing large multi-discipline programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.
• Thorough understanding of various types of gas infrastructure projects (transmission, distribution).
• Strong skills in relationship development and management.
