About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong controls and BAS experience to lead high-volume building optimisation projects. This role focuses heavily on controls integration, commissioning, and field coordination.

You will manage 30-100 projects per year, oversee an internal Controls Technician Team, direct third-party controls EPCs, and help build scalable operational processes as the organisation grows. Projects span a wide variety of client types, including retail, multi-site portfolios, municipalities, hospitals, universities, gyms, and other commercial and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of controls-focused optimisation projects.
• Oversee scheduling, budgets, QA/QC, risk, documentation, and client updates.
• Direct and prioritise the internal Controls Technician.
• Manage and hold accountable third-party controls EPCs/subcontractors.
• Ensure proper execution of controls sequences and integration with HVAC, lighting, and BAS systems.
• Support light mechanical tuning only (no mechanical installations).
• Build and refine PM workflows, SOPs, templates, and reporting tools.
• Travel 30–40% for site visits, commissioning oversight, and QA.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of project management experience in BAS, controls, HVAC controls, or building optimisation.
• Strong understanding of building automation systems, control sequences, and commissioning.
• Proven success managing high-throughput technical projects.
• Experience leading field technicians and managing subcontractors/EPCs.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in an evolving, fast-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC system behaviour and light mechanical tuning to support controls.
• Exposure to lighting control systems (occupancy/daylighting, schedules, sensors).
• Prior work in commissioning, retro-commissioning, or energy efficiency.
• Startup/high-growth environment experience.
