We design and deploy building automation, HVAC optimization, lighting automation, and distributed energy systems across the U.S. Our work is supported by a proprietary technology platform that enables customers to better understand, manage, and optimize their energy usage.

As we expand our national footprint, we are building an internal controls deployment team to ensure speed, quality, and consistency across all projects.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Building Automation Controls System Technician to support the nationwide rollout of our building controls and energy‑efficiency initiatives. This role is a cornerstone of our strategy to bring controls installation, commissioning, and integration fully in‑house.

You will install and commission building automation systems (BAS), integrate HVAC and lighting controls, complete electrical tie‑ins, and ensure each project meets our high QA/QC standards. This is a travel‑intensive, hands‑on technical role ideal for a seasoned controls professional who enjoys field work, problem solving, and delivering high‑quality systems.

Projects span a wide variety of client types, including retail, multi‑site portfolios, municipalities, hospitals, universities, gyms, and other commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and integrate controls hardware, sensors, thermostats, gateways, and communication networks.
  • Configure and troubleshoot BAS frameworks (e.g., Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or equivalent).
  • Perform electrical tie‑ins, including service panels, disconnects, lighting contactors, and low‑voltage terminations.
  • Interpret and apply HVAC equipment configurations to integrate packaged units, split systems, heat pumps, exhaust systems, etc.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequence‑of‑operations documents.
  • Conduct site‑level testing, verification, and functional commissioning.
  • Document installation details, provide punch‑list resolution, and ensure project close‑out requirements are met.
  • Up to Travel 70–80% nationwide for multi‑site deployment schedules.
Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in building controls, BAS, HVAC controls, or commercial electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to perform electrical tie‑ins safely and independently.

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, floor plans, and one‑lines.
  • Comfortable with nationwide travel (upto 50‑60%)
Preferred
