Job description

Senior Project Manager – Electrical Infrastructure

Our client is a leading consulting firm for the utilities and renewable energy sector, delivering complex electrical infrastructure programs that support power generation, transmission, data centers, and large-scale cabling deployments. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager – Electrical Infrastructure to lead end-to-end delivery of mission-critical electrical and cabling projects.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on project leader who understands the technical realities of electrical systems, cabling/wiring programs, and the logistics and supply chain challenges unique to this space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple concurrent electrical infrastructure projects from concept through close‑out, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage large‑scale cabling and wiring programs supporting utilities, renewable energy facilities, and data center environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, cost forecasts, and procurement strategies.
  • Partner with engineering, construction, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure material availability, vendor performance, and on‑time execution.
  • Own logistics planning for cabling projects, including supplier coordination, warehousing, delivery sequencing, and inventory controls.
  • Identify project risks related to supply chain disruptions, labor constraints, or permitting delays and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and utility partners.
  • Lead change management, scope control, and executive‑level communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality standards applicable to utilities and renewable energy environments.
  • Produce regular executive‑level status reports highlighting progress, financial performance, risks, and remediation plans.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive project management experience in electrical infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or data center environments.
  • Strong technical background in:
    • Electrical systems
    • Cabling and wiring installations
    • Field construction and commissioning processes
  • Proven experience managing logistics and supply chain activities related to cabling or electrical materials.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams in highly regulated or safety‑critical environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership, engineering teams, and external partners.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and vendor management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with:
    • Utility providers
    • Renewable energy developers (solar, wind, battery storage, grid modernization)
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.).
