Job summary

SLS Consultants in Tulsa, OK is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Core & Shell Construction to lead large-scale ground-up projects. You will manage planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor oversight, and client coordination from preconstruction through turnover.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a Project Manager with a General Contractor, strong knowledge of structural steel, sitework, and building envelope systems, and proven ability to control costs while

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
• Strong experience with structural steel, sitework and civil construction, and building envelope systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors and client relationships; understands contracts, cost controls, and project financials.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from preconstruction through final turnover.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, and procurement.
• Coordinate field teams and subcontractors; ensure safety and quality.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Core & Shell Construction to join our team in Tulsa, OK. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and client coordination for large-scale ground-up construction projects. This role is ideal for a proven General Contractor professional with expertise in structural concrete, structural steel, sitework, civil infrastructure, and building envelope systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects from preconstruction through final turnover.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Drive project execution while ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor cost performance and maintain accurate cost reporting.
• Manage subcontractor buyout, procurement, contract administration, and change orders.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Schedule Management

• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to meet milestone dates.
• Proactively identify schedule risks and implement recovery plans when necessary.
• Lead planning meetings and provide schedule updates to stakeholders.

Construction Operations

• Oversee all Core & Shell construction activities.
• Coordinate field teams and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and design changes.
• Support constructability reviews and problem resolution.

Quality & Safety

• Promote a culture of safety and compliance.
• Ensure project execution meets company quality standards and contract requirements.
• Participate in inspections, closeout activities, and turnover documentation.
• Support resolution of field issues impacting quality or safety.

Team Development

• Mentor Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project team members.
• Foster collaboration across preconstruction, field operations, and project controls teams.

Project leadership, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, contract administration, quality control, stakeholder communication, and safety oversight are consistently identified as core construction PM responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
• Strong experience with:
• Structural steel
• Sitework and civil construction
• Building envelope systems
• Commercial construction scheduling and budgeting
• Experience managing subcontractors and client relationships.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost controls, and project financials.

Preferred

• Data center, mission critical, industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale commercial project experience.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $25M in value.
• Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• PMP, CCM, or related industry certifications.
