Senior Project Manager – Data Warehouse Modernization
12-Month Contract
- 1-year engagement with eligibility for up to two additional 1-year extensions
Seeking a senior-level Project Manager to lead a major cloud-based Data Warehouse modernization initiative with our Seattle-based government agency client. This role will provide end‑to‑end project management leadership across planning, platform evaluation, vendor coordination, implementation, and delivery of initial analytics and reporting use cases.
The Project Manager will operate in a large, complex public-sector environment, coordinating cross-functional business and technical teams as well as third-party vendors, while ensuring adherence to governance, reporting, and stage‑gate processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary delivery lead for a cloud Data Warehouse modernization initiative from initiation through implementation and closeout.
- Develop and maintain core project artifacts including the Project Charter, Project Management Plan, integrated schedule, RAID logs, and executive reporting.
- Coordinate current‑state assessment and requirements gathering across business stakeholders, data, analytics, and IT teams.
- Lead platform evaluation, options analysis, and selection activities in partnership with technical SMEs and vendors (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Manage day‑to‑day execution across teams and third‑party providers; oversee dependencies across data integration, BI, and analytics workstreams.
- Own delivery controls including scope, schedule, budget forecasting, risk/issue management, change control, and decision tracking.
- Facilitate project team meetings, stakeholder workshops, and executive/steering committee updates in alignment with governance standards.
- Plan and coordinate implementation readiness, testing support, deployment planning, and delivery of priority dashboards, reporting, and analytics use cases.
- Support organizational change management, adoption, training coordination, and knowledge transfer to client staff.
- Drive project closeout activities including lessons learned, final reporting, and transition to operational teams.
