Job summary

Balfour Beatty US in Orlando, FL is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead construction projects from direction to completion, ensuring quality, profitability, and adherence to our Zero Harm safety culture.

You will oversee contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, cost projections, and schedule requirements to keep projects on track and within budget. This role emphasizes teamwork with customers, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in commercial construction on large projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in CM, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.
• Experience with project management software (Constructware, P6, Timberline).

Responsibilities

• Create a construction schedule with scheduling, superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Develop resource matrices and determine needed personnel, tools, and equipment.
• Review contract documents with project participants to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Coordinate and deliver all requirements for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee project administration, schedule, milestones, and close-out checklists.
• Maintain safe, respectful site environment and implement safety and quality controls.
• Prepare monthly PFR and Labor Cost Report projections on time.
• Build strong relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and user groups.

The Role

Joining Balfour Beatty as a Senior Project Manager in our Orlando, FL team you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects assigned to you. You will direct and supervise activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitability, and adherence to our Safety/Zero Harm culture.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with scheduling, superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers to create a construction schedule.
• Develop an organizational and responsibilities matrix at the start of each project and determine the resources needed for the project (e.g., people, tools, equipment, materials, internal and external services).
• Review the contract documents with all project participants (e.g., customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, government regulators, utilities) to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate and deliver all requirements for subcontractors and suppliers to meet project schedules.
• Responsible for project administration and daily operations. Prepares and maintains the project schedule, milestone dates, and close-out checklist. Reviews with project staff each quarter and assigns responsibilities, execution, and follow-up plans.
• Ensures that project site and company assets are secure and maintains a safe and respectful working environment at all times by implementing programs for safety and loss prevention, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), risk management, training, and quality control. Implements and facilitates project specific SAP.
• Develops and completes monthly Projected Final Cost Report (PFR) and Labor Cost Report (LCR) projections on time.
• Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.

What you will need

• Minimum 7-10 years of commercial construction experience, with specific experience working on large-scale diverse commercial construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience developing and working within demanding client relationships, demonstrating excellent communication.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to deliver the highest quality product and lead teams to do the same.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proven experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.).
