Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day civil/road and bridge PM from planning to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with PennDOT/NJDOT standards and permits.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and agencies.
  • Review plans, specs, and contracts to resolve conflicts.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, changes, and RFIs.
  • Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with field teams to maintain safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Provide regular cost and status updates to leadership.

Metric Geo is partnering with a heavy civil construction firm specializing in road, bridge, and heavy civil projects across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our partner is delivering high-quality infrastructure on time and on budget, and we're looking for a Senior Project Manager to help lead that work.

Position Overview

Metric Geo is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 10 years of experience managing civil, road, and bridge construction projects. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and hands-on familiarity with PennDOT and NJDOT specifications, processes, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a sharp problem-solver, and comfortable managing both the technical and administrative sides of a project from bid through closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day management of civil/road and bridge construction projects, from planning through completion
  • Ensure all work complies with PennDOT and NJDOT standards, permits, and specifications
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and state/municipal agency representatives
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents; identify and resolve design or field conflicts
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, and RFIs
  • Prepare and review technical reports, correspondence, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with field superintendents and crews to maintain safety, quality, and schedule targets
  • Track project costs and provide regular status updates to leadership
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  • 4-8 years of construction project management experience in civil/road and bridge work
  • Demonstrated experience working on PennDOT and/or NJDOT projects
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams
  • Proven problem-solving ability in fast-paced field environments
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) a plus
  • Valid driver's license required
