A global technology services provider is seeking an experienced PMO Manager in New Jersey to establish and enhance project management standards for effective project delivery. Job description

15+ years of relevant IT experience in establishing and operating the enterprise cadence for execution, performance measurement, and tooling enablement. The role ensures that operational processes, KPIs/OKRs, dashboards, and delivery tools are standardized, reliable, and decision‑focused, enabling leadership to manage priorities, risks, and outcomes effectively.

The PMO Manager is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously improving project management standards, processes, and governance across the organization. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations while aligning with business strategy and leadership priorities.

Key Responsibilities
PMO Governance & Framework
  • Establish and maintain PMO standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices.
  • Define and enforce project governance, stage-gate reviews, and approval processes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project and program portfolios to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on strategic value, risk, capacity, and financial impact.
  • Track dependencies, risks, and inter‑project impacts across the portfolio.
Project Delivery Oversight
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Project Managers on planning, execution, and closure.
  • Review project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Support estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
  • Track project financials including burn, variance, and revenue realization (where applicable).
  • Collaborate with Contract Management, Finance, and Legal teams on PWOs, SOWs, and change controls.
Reporting & Metrics
  • Define and track KPIs related to schedule, cost, quality, and resource utilization.
  • Provide accurate and timely dashboards and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Enable data‑driven decision‑making through transparent reporting.
Resource & Capacity Management
  • Support resource planning and capacity forecasting across projects.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend staffing or training actions.
  • Optimize utilization while balancing delivery commitments.
Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement
  • Act as a trusted partner to business leaders, delivery heads, and clients.
  • Facilitate executive reviews, steering committees, and governance forums.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management practices.
  • Coach and mentor Project Managers and delivery teams.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and delivery excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related field.
  • 8–15 years of experience in project/program management or PMO roles (depending on level).
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
  • Strong understanding of Application Maintenance Services practices
  • Proven experience in governance, portfolio management, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
