The role requires strong leadership, proactive problem-solving, and frequent coordination with clients, architects, and field teams across South Florida and nationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of proven GC project management experience.
• Fluent English (reading/writing/verbal).

Responsibilities

Brodson Construction, Inc. is a boutique construction company with over 30 years of experience in general contracting and construction management, specializing in high-end residential, hospitality, retail, and other exceptional projects.

As a Senior Project Manager at Brodson, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional construction projects for discerning clientele throughout South Florida and across the United States.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful and profitable execution of projects under their management, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality, contract compliance, and client satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

We have projects throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Senior Project Managers will work from our office in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, with regular job site visits required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Assume responsibility for projects following turnover from the estimating and preconstruction teams, reviewing budgets, schedules, and construction documents for accuracy and constructability.
• Review construction contracts, including allowances, exclusions, qualifications, and contractual obligations.
• Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring milestones and contractual commitments are met.
• Familiarize yourself with all construction documents, including plans, specifications, bulletins, sketches, and revisions, ensuring accurate distribution and implementation.
• Oversee submittal and RFI processes, maintaining accurate logs and ensuring timely resolution.
• Lead projects from preconstruction through completion, maintaining accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.

Field Operations & Team Leadership

• Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field teams to develop project execution plans, establish weekly priorities, and monitor progress.
• Conduct regular site visits to evaluate construction activities, quality, safety, and schedule performance.
• Review daily field reports and weekly schedule updates to identify potential delays, coordination issues, and areas requiring corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, project reporting requirements, and contract documents.
• Proactively identify project risks and implement recovery strategies when schedules, budgets, or quality standards are at risk.
• Foster accountability, clear communication, and collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.

Financial & Contract Management

• Maintain full accountability for project financial performance, including budgets, cost forecasting, profitability, and cash flow.
• Manage the change order process, ensuring changes are properly documented, priced, approved, and incorporated into project budgets and schedules.
• Review, negotiate, and execute subcontracts, purchase orders, and subcontractor change orders.
• Monitor general conditions and project expenditures throughout construction.
• Manage the payment application process, including reviewing and coding project-related invoices, timely client billing, and coordination of subcontractor payments.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate collection efforts as necessary.
• Reconcile subcontractor billings and resolve outstanding financial matters prior to project closeout.

Client & Consultant Relations

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, maintaining accurate meeting minutes, action items, and issue logs.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and critical decisions clearly and proactively to clients and company leadership.
• Manage client expectations throughout the project, ensuring alignment with contractual commitments, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business and referrals.

Quality, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure construction activities meet Brodson's quality standards, approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Collaborate with field leadership to monitor quality assurance and quality control throughout the project.
• Review project safety procedures regularly and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating significant contractual, legal, financial, or operational concerns to company leadership.
• Coordinate corrective action plans when project performance falls below expectations.

Project Completion & Closeout

• Lead project punch list inspections with ownership, consultants, and field teams to ensure timely completion and sign-off.
• Manage all facets of project closeout, including final inspections, required documentation, maintenance and warranty manuals, outstanding deficiencies, and warranty obligations.
• Ensure subcontractor and vendor closeout is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain client relationships following project completion to support long‑term satisfaction and future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Experience leading Superintendents, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong financial management skills, including cost forecasting, change order management, and project profitability.
• Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software, including Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, architects, consultants, and trade partners.
• A proactive, solutions‑oriented approach with a high level of ownership and accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or possess the equivalent combination of technical training and/or related professional experience.
• 5-7 years of proven experience working for a GC as a Project Manager on projects ranging from $1M - $10M.
• Commercial/GC experience, especially with high‑end restaurant, retail, and commercial offices
• Software knowledge - Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, Procore, and Sage 300 PJ
