MATT Construction, the General Contractor behind The Broad Museum and Academy Museum projects, seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee one large project or multiple smaller ones. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, quality, and owner contracts while mentoring the project team and serving as the primary client contact.

You’ll participate in owner and design meetings, driving project success with BIM/LEED awareness and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; experience considered in lieu of education.
• Minimum 10 years in commercial construction with at least 6 in PM.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Ability to mentor and assemble high-performance teams.
• Proficiency with BIM and LEED practices.

MATT Construction, the General Contractor that built such iconic structures as The Broad Museum and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is accepting applications for the Senior Project Manager role.

The Role

Reporting to the project Vice President, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of a single large project, or multiple smaller projects. The SPM manages projects from the inception of the budget phase, through preconstruction, and into construction. Additionally, the SPM is responsible for budget, schedule and quality, managing the Owner contract, and mentoring of the project team. The Senior Project Manager is the primary point of contact with our clients. The SPM participates in Owner Meetings, Design Meetings, and Staff Meetings, ultimately managing the project’s success.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Managing profitability, staff development and client relations for positive results, in tandem with the superintendent
• Overseeing and administering one or more construction projects at a time
• Conducting constructability reviews, taking advantage of your problem-solving abilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of education
• At least 10 years of commercial construction industry experience, with at least 6 of those years in project management, including managing large projects of $35 million or more
• Technical knowledge of building components and systems
• A solid understanding of the construction management process including estimating, budget control, scheduling, quality management, safety management, procurement, and contract administration
• The ability to assemble the right team to address and solve issues effectively
• Thorough knowledge of procedures (subcontracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs and close-out)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• An aptitude for mentoring and training
• Experience with BIM and LEED
