Job summary

Duplantisdesigngroup is seeking an Environmental + Regulatory Senior Project Manager in Louisiana to oversee the E+R Team, lead regulatory projects, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

You will mentor staff, manage multi-project delivery, and collaborate with clients and agencies to advance DDG’s mission and goals. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Lead multiple projects across phases; oversee documents, maps, and applications.
  • Support budget development and proposals.
  • Mentor team members and optimize departmental processes.
  • Drive business development and expand market reach.

Job Description

ENVIRONMENTAL + REGULATORY Senior Project Manager Louisiana Reports to: Environmental + Regulatory Lead, Business Unit Leader FLSA Classification: Exempt Travel: Up to 40%

Role

The Environmental + Regulatory Senior Project Manager will oversee the current E+R Team, their training and development, as well as Project oversight and assisting in planning, organizing, and implementing policies, guidelines, and procedures related to Environmental + Regulatory compliance. Other core functions are related to regulatory permit management, compliance and enforcement, analytical data, regulatory agency partnerships, and environmental documentation.

Activities & Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Approx. 50%
    • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships and promote DDG’s reputation with Federal, State, and Local agencies and employees.
    • Serve as subject matter expert and resource for our Clients and our internal Team.
    • Provides day-to-day leadership and works with the Team to ensure a high-performance, Client focused work environment which supports achieving DDG’s mission, strategic plan, objectives, and values.
    • Work with the E+R members, Clients, internal and external project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
    • Capable of supporting multiple projects, typically in a variety of phases, simultaneously. Overseas the strategy, development, content and QA/QC of documents, maps, applications, etc. before submission.
    • Assist with Project Budget and Proposal development
  • Team Training and Optimization: Approx. 25%
    • Provides day-to-day leadership and works with the Team to ensure a high-performance, Client focused work environment which supports achieving DDG’s mission, strategic plan, objectives, and values.
    • Establish and adapt standardization practices as the Team grows.
    • Lead personnel by teaching the Team to manage projects effectively and efficiently.
    • Continuously builds and strengthens a library of applicable resources to be used by the Team to ensure production of quality documents in an efficient manner.
    • Review changes to existing regulations and standard operating procedures (SOP) to define requirements for regulatory submissions.
    • Apply continuous improvement principles in the deployment of regulatory and environmental business plans, processes, and performance measures, ensuring that they align with DDG’s strategies and operational plans.
    • Helps to mentor/enforce departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Business Development: Approx. 15%
    • Continue to serve as main POC for personal/incoming customer base.
    • Assist with and at times lead new customer Business Development efforts, especially when leveraging existing connections.
    • Assist in researching and networking new/emerging markets for potential to expand into new market sectors and expand current capabilities.
    • Participate in conferences, trade groups, and other external leadership roles.
  • Business Unit Optimization: 10%
    • Train others in processes and procedures and ensure the Team is updated on changes, trends, and court rulings surrounding environmental regulations. Assists BUL in mentoring team members in leadership and team building, as well as personal and professional development.
    • Assist with developing budgets, department policies, and procedures with BUL.
    • Assist with establishing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations.
    • Analyze new or changing regulations and court decisions and coordinate with the BUL to develop strategies to address changes in operation.
    • Assists in preparation of reviews, and presents personnel reports, various management and information updates, project status reports, and related written documentation with BUL.
    • Contributes strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the Team in collaboration with the BUL.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Subject Matter Expert; has the knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulatory policy, law, regulation, and court decisions that pertain to or potentially change Client Projects. Can analyze and make recommendations on complex environmental, regulatory, water quality, and potential regulatory/administrative issues.
  • Superb leadership skills and practices of employee supervision, including work planning, assignment review and evaluation, discipline, and the training of personnel in work procedures.
  • Effective management and communication skills while working with a variety of clients, including both public and private sectors.
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives, practices, policies, procedures, and high standards of work for self and Team.
  • Ability to select and supervise a team, provide training and development opportunities, ensure work is performed effectively, and evaluate performance in an objective and positive manner.
  • Understands how to promote and foster cross-functional development and team building fostering effective team interaction to ensure teamwork is conducted smoothly.
  • Ability to represent DDG in meetings with governmental agencies, community groups, various business, professional and regulatory organizations, and in meetings with individuals.
