Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Houston glazing team. You will lead major commercial glazing projects from award to closeout, owning budgets, schedules and contracts.

The ideal candidate has extensive curtain wall/storefront experience, 5M+ project oversight, strong drawing literacy, and a proven track record with GCs and suppliers. Procore is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial glazing project management experience.
• Strong experience with curtain wall, storefront and/or unitized curtain walls.
• Experience managing projects of $5M–$20M+ preferred.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience working directly with major General Contractors.
• Knowledge of submittals, RFIs, change orders and project documentation.
• Procore experience strongly preferred.
• Bluebeam and Microsoft Office experience preferred.

Job description

A well-established commercial glazing contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing Houston team.

The company specializes in complex architectural glazing systems, including curtain wall, unitized systems, storefront, doors & hardware, sunshades, impact-rated and specialty glazing.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of major commercial glazing projects from contract award through final closeout, managing the financial, contractual, scheduling and field coordination aspects of each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial glazing projects from award through completion and closeout
• Own project budgets, schedules, contracts and profitability
• Manage projects involving curtain wall, unitized curtain wall, storefront, entrances, doors/hardware and specialty glazing
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings and project documents
• Coordinate with General Contractors, architects, engineers, vendors and field teams
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders and procurement
• Coordinate fabrication, delivery and installation schedules
• Monitor project costs, labor and material procurement
• Identify project risks and develop solutions
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong GC/client relationships
• Support field Superintendents and Foremen with technical and scheduling issues
• Track billing, collections and change-order opportunities
• Manage punch list, warranty and final closeout activities
• Mentor and support Project Managers and Project Engineers

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial glazing project management experience
• Strong experience with curtain wall, storefront and/or unitized curtain wall
• Experience managing projects of $5M–$20M+ preferred
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings and specifications
• Experience working directly with major General Contractors
• Strong knowledge of submittals, RFIs, change orders and project documentation
• Proven ability to manage project budgets and profitability
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Procore experience strongly preferred
• Bluebeam and Microsoft Office experience preferred

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who knows commercial glazing, not simply a general construction PM.

The ideal candidate can walk into a complicated curtain wall, unitized or storefront project and understand the technical, financial and operational requirements from contract award through installation.

You'll be comfortable dealing with GCs, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and field crews, while keeping projects on schedule and profitable.
