Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide planning, management, and execution of a portfolio of transmission power delivery projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred but not required)
• Must have Transmission Line experience
• PMP certification (preferred but not required)
• Minimum of 10 years in the Power Delivery industry with at least 5 years in project management
• Strong financial management understanding
• Experience managing large multi-discipline programs across offices
• Thorough understanding of power delivery projects (transmission, substation, distribution)
• Strong relationship development and management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of medium-large power delivery projects.
• Support business development through scoping, fee development, proposals, interviews, and contract development.
• Define project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress milestones.
• Meet with client management to resolve issues and obtain approvals.
• Maintain ongoing client relationships for business development.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate project engagements and communication.
• Manage day-to-day activities of project engagements with clients and project teams.
• Achieve project objectives including quality, scope, budgets and schedules.
• Analyze project performance and resource utilization.
• Identify potential out-of-scope work and manage contract changes.
• Identify and manage project risk from proposal through duration.
• Train, mentor, and oversee other Project Managers and conduct reviews.

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Project Manager in our Program Management organization. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide planning, management, and overall execution of a portfolio of transmission power delivery projects. This includes managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality and financial performance on large, complex and challenging projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning and implementation of medium-large power delivery projects ranging in complexity.
• Supports business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development.
• Reviews assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points.
• Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion.
• Maintains a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams.
• Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Analyzes project performance and resource utilization.
• Identifies potential out of scope work.
• Manages, and negotiates contract change orders.
• Identifies and manages project risk from the proposal phase through the duration of the project.
• Trains, mentors, and oversees other Project Managers and conducts/participates in portfolio and project reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred but not required)
• Must have Transmission Line experience.
• PMP (preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 10 years of increasing experience in the Power Delivery Industry with a minimum of 5 years in project management.
• Firm understanding of financial management.
• Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing large multi-discipline programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.
• Thorough understanding of various types of power delivery projects (transmission, substation, distribution).
• Strong skills in relationship development and management.
