AtkinsRéalis in Syracuse, NY seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead transportation projects focused on Roads, Bridges and Tolls. Reporting to the Sr Project Director, you will drive project delivery and be the primary client contact.

Must hold a Professional Engineer license and a bachelor’s degree, with 15+ years experience and 5–8 years in PM. The role offers a broad benefits package and opportunities for leadership and business development.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation Practice in Syracuse, NY, reporting to the Sr Project Director, to support the delivery of projects with a particular focus on Roads, Bridges, and Tolls.

Project Planning & Execution

• Leads the project team in executing all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Independently develops and manages project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops and implements comprehensive Project Management Plans.

Financial Management

• Manages all financial aspects of the project.
• Approves subconsultant and vendor invoices.
• Proactively identifies and manages budget variances and communicates financial performance to senior management.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serves as the primary point of contact for the client.
• Leads contract negotiations.
• Represents the firm and client at public hearings and regulatory meetings.

Team Leadership & Business Development

• Leads and directs multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Mentors Project Managers and Associate PMs.
• Identifies new business opportunities and participates in proposals.

About you

• Professional Engineer License is required; Bachelor’s degree is required; Graduate degree is desirable.
• 15+ years professional experience, 5-8 years of direct project management experience.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $175,000 - $190,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
