Job summary

Metric Geo seeks a Senior Highway Engineer to lead major transportation projects across New York State. This role blends project delivery, client engagement, mentorship, and business development with visibility across NYSDOT, thruway, and municipal programs.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and develop client relationships while helping expand the firm’s presence in New York. NY PE license and 15+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 15+ years of transportation engineering and project management experience.
• New York PE license required.
• Experience delivering projects for NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Federal Aid programs.
• Strong business development background and existing industry relationships.
• Proven ability to win work, manage clients, and lead project teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation and highway engineering projects from pursuit through delivery.
• Serve as the primary client contact, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and technical execution.
• Lead and contribute to business development efforts, including client meetings, proposals, and presentations.
• Provide technical leadership on roadway and transportation design projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior/mid-level staff.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with public-sector transportation clients and stakeholders.
• Help expand the firm’s presence across New York transportation markets.
