Job summary

Onni is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Chicago to lead construction projects from planning through delivery, coordinating internal teams and external partners to meet scope, budget, and quality goals.

The role requires 10+ years in project/development management, an associate or higher in PM, and strong proficiency with project management tools. Some travel to sites will be expected.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project/development management.
  • Associates Degree or higher in Project Management or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Windows.
  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate a department with five or more employees.
  • Ability to travel for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams of 5–10 staff including Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
  • Plan projects to accomplish goals within constraints such as schedule, cost and quality standards.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate communication and set project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Attend design meetings and provide constructability comments and direction on drawings.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend budget changes as necessary.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and change orders for subcontractors and consultants.
  • Determine staffing needs and recruit as necessary during project cycle.
  • Delegate tasks and resolve issues within the project team.
  • Plan and schedule timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate to involved parties.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise team members and contractors.

This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to the plan . The Senior Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

What You Will Do
  • Manage s and support s project teams consisting of 5- 10 staff members including Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.

  • Coach es , mentor s , motivate s and supervise s project team members and contractors, and influence s them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Managers and c onduct s performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Build s , develop s , and grow s any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct s project postmortems and create s a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop s best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings .

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in project/development manager .
  • Associates Degree or higher in Project Management or related field .
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction and building codes required .
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Windows .
  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate a department with five or more employees .
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively run a department in an efficient manner .
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret prints, architectural drawings, financial and job cost reports .
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or clarifications from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community .
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business .
  • Excellent customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills .
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills .
  • Ability to travel f or the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
Salary Range

$140,000-$170,000
