Job summary

Onni is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Chicago to support design, execution, monitoring, and control of construction deliverables. You will work with Project Managers, Coordinators, and field teams to ensure alignment with engineering, quality, and control requirements.

Responsibilities include budgeting, subcontract management, scheduling, progress tracking, and ensuring on-budget, on-time delivery. A degree in a related field and multi-family project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as Project Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Design or related field.
  • Direct work experience in a project coordination capacity.
  • Experience overseeing multi-family projects.
  • Project Management education is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support in estimating and finalizing budgets and contract price.
  • Negotiate and manage cost-effective subcontract and material purchases.
  • Develop, track, and maintain project schedules.
  • Study job specifications to determine construction methods and timing.
  • Review critical path and accelerate projects to meet deadlines.
  • Report and update stakeholders on project schedule.
  • Oversee tendering process and contract administrator.
  • Assist in planning project scope for subcontractors and employees.
  • Resource allocation and relationship management of internal/external teams.
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting.
  • Cost estimating and budget development with stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage engineering controls for efficiency.
  • Manage changes in scope and contingency plans.

What You Will Do:
  • Support in the estimate and finalization of budgets and contract price
  • Negotiate,closeand manage cost-effective subcontract and materialpurchases

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope,identifypotential issues, and devise contingency plans ifrequired;
  • Ensure project is built on budget, on schedule and on drawingspecifications;
  • Prepare,adjustand complete job close out procedures.
What You Bring:
  • 3+ years of experience as Project Engineer
  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, ArchitecturalDesignor related field an asset or equivalent foreign degree or education and experience
  • Direct work experience in a project coordination capacity, including all aspects of process development andexecution
  • Experience overseeing multi-familyprojects
  • Project Management education an asset
Salary Range:

$100,000-$140,000
