Job description

Join One of Washington's Premier Mechanical Contractors.

At Holmberg Mechanical, we’ve been shaping the Seattle skyline since 1949—and we’re just getting started. What began as a trusted local mechanical contractor has grown into one of Washington State’s most dynamic teams. Today, we’re competing for and winning some of the most high-profile projects across the region.

We’re proud to have been named one of the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Best Places to Work and an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company. Our culture is collaborative, fast-paced, and built around people who take ownership and get things done.

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex mechanical projects, develop lasting client relationships, and help our teams deliver strong results from pursuit through closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Lead large, complex mechanical projects and dynamic project teams from preconstruction through turnover, while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Support annual company sales goals by developing repeat business with owners, developers, and general contractors.
  • Build strong partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers and lead effective procurement and subcontracting strategies.
  • Estimate plan-and-specification, design-build, and negotiated projects and changes; connect estimating assumptions to executable project budgets.
  • Communicate project status, financial performance, and emerging risks clearly to senior management, with recommended actions.
  • Coach and mentor project team members, setting clear expectations and helping them grow in their roles.
  • Close construction contracts at the gross margins established by management while delivering quality work and a strong client experience.
Day-to-Day Impact

You will own the commercial and operational performance of your projects, including:

  • Develop a project-specific client strategy and maintain regular communication to support satisfaction and future opportunities.
  • Analyze costs, establish project plans and risk mitigation measures, and manage budgets and forecasts throughout construction.
  • Review the overall project schedule and develop and maintain a detailed mechanical schedule with the field team.
  • Lead change management, including timely notices, scope documentation, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Develop, submit, and track billings; monitor receivables and project cash flow.
  • Work with foremen to forecast manpower needs and align staffing with the schedule and budget.
  • Lead timely material and equipment buyouts and manage subcontractors to control cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
  • Direct the project team’s RFIs, coordination drawings, submittals, and closeout deliverables.
  • Oversee a project-specific quality control program and resolve issues before they affect turnover.
  • Develop and execute commissioning, owner training, and turnover plans with the field and project teams.
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of combined field and/or project management experience in the mechanical industry.
  • Successful management of complex mechanical scopes over $15 million within the last five years.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of up to eight people with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence presenting to groups of up to 20 people.
  • Client-first, solution-oriented approach and the initiative to take ownership of difficult decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.
