Reporting directly to the CEO and President, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible to direct multiple construction projects and oversee all the phases, including pre-construction planning, developing a schedule, coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. You will administer contracts, change orders, and billing. You will maintain close interaction with clients and monitor construction and financial activities until the project is completed and manage the closeout process.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
• Select and coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
• Oversee performance of all trade contractors and review architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
• Administer construction contracts and obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
• Develop and mentor junior project managers, review their reports, check on any reported difficulties, and correct any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
• Track and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
• Report to owners and architects about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.
• Project a One Company attitude within the company whether between departments, offices, or projects. This is shown by being positive and proactive in helping where needed and attendance at internal company events and activities.
• Will assist when needed as a resource or with resources for other offices.
• Effective Assistance in Acquisition of Work and maintenance of client relationships.
• Effective Assistance in recruitment and retention of staff.
• Participate in Internal Development and related surveys.
• Project a positive image for the company internally and externally.
• Appropriate sharing their concerns and facilitating improvement in the company.
• Work to ensure a good faith effort in implementation of the companies Community and Environmental Policies such as Local Hiring, Contracting, Recycling, etc.
• Involve yourself with the Senior Leader group by attending Company Updates etc.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or relevant field.
• At least 10 years of proven experience supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and coordinate numerous activities and diverse groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
• Willingness to travel bi-weekly for two to three days.
