Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA is seeking an experienced program manager to oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and act as a liaison between project management, planning, and line management. You will review status, manage schedules, and prepare reports to meet productivity and quality goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of exempt experience or a Master’s degree with 8 years, plus equivalency options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of exempt experience or Master’s with 8 years of exempt experience.
• Equivalent to Bachelor's Degree: NNPS graduate, AD/2-year program + 2 years exempt/4 years non-exempt, or Military Paygrade E-5+.
• Excel and related financial analysis tools are a plus.
• EVMS compliance and cost-reduction initiatives are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and liaises between project management, planning, and line management.
• Reviews project status and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring progress and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Education

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience
