Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a program/ project lead to oversee ongoing projects, liaising between management, planning, and the project team. You will review budgets, manage schedules, and drive issue resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.

The role requires a degree (Bachelor's or Master’s) with several years of experience in manufacturing or shipbuilding environments, including Navy qualifications. Some travel and a non-telework role apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Associate's Degree or other 2-year program with 2 years relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt experience
