Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Project Geologist to lead environmental investigations and remediation projects in Northern California. You will work on complex regulatory issues, meet clients and agencies, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or closely aligned field
• 5+ years of environmental consulting including subsurface investigations and writing reports
• Experience with groundwater sampling and stratigraphic logging
• 40-hour OSHA certification and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher
• Ability to interact with clients, regulators, field staff, and subcontractors
• Ability to write project work plans, health and safety plans, and related documents
• Mentor, train, and manage staff; maintain safety and data integrity
• Proficiency with MS Office and GIS production

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, and related evaluations for diverse clients
• Meet with clients and regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, DTSC, RWQCB)
• Write and review remedial and technical reports and plans
• Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated sites
• Direct GIS map production and data analyses
• Coordinate field work, scheduling, and vendor oversight
• Mentor junior staff in procedures, data mgmt, and GIS production
• Ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of projects
• Develop proposals and support business development
