Job summary

State of Wyoming seeks a senior-level professional to lead planning and directing work for the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program – Class VI Carbon Sequestration Wells. You will provide geological expertise, supervise staff geologists, and coordinate with agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and protect groundwater resources.

You will analyze environmental data, draft technical documents, and oversee contracts while communicating with the public and stakeholders in Wyoming

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental principles, theories, and practices, especially in relation to regulations.
• Ability to work as a team member of professionals, to take direction, and meet deadlines.
• Competencies in written, oral, and electronic communication, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Write and interpret rules and regulations, reviews recommended permitting actions and make critical decisions with little or no supervision.
• Confers with public officials, reps of management of private industry and consultants in resolving permitting problems.
• Responds to and resolves concerns raised by the public within delegated authority.
• Coordinates with agencies for arrangement of services, surveys and permitting.
• Reviews and evaluates work of consultants and enforces regulatory requirements.
• Represents programs in public meetings and at design and plan reviews.
