Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Project Executive to lead complex construction programs, focusing on K-12, municipal, and public safety facilities, with executive oversight from preconstruction through closeout.

You will drive revenue and profitability, manage risk, and serve as the primary client advocate while guiding high-performing project teams, partners, and internal staff toward strategic outcomes and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in management.
• Proven success managing P&L, project portfolios, and high-value client relationships.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop project leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain executive responsibility for performance, revenue, profitability, utilization, and financial outcomes.
• Partner with senior leadership to meet or exceed annual business plans and budget targets.
• Lead business development by identifying new opportunities, leading pursuits, and supporting proposals.
• Build and expand long-term relationships with owners, developers, and key stakeholders.
• Represent the firm with clients and at industry events, reinforcing reputation for quality and execution.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and deliver insights to leadership.
• Lead project teams around OKRs and drive accountability.
• Participate in executive staffing and resource planning.
• Travel as required to support project, client, and business development needs.
