Job summary

SLSCO LTD. seeks a Senior Project Executive to lead the delivery of high-value public-sector design-build projects in New York City. You will provide strategic direction across execution, client relations, contract negotiations, financial oversight, and business development.

This role serves as the primary client-facing leader, ensuring projects are on time, within budget, and compliant with NYC procurement, MWBE, and diversity requirements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in construction management with at least 5 in exec/senior leadership.
• Experience delivering high-value design-build for government entities.
• Proven track record delivering NYC public-sector projects (DDC/NYCHA/DEP/others).
• Knowledge of NYC procurement, MWBE compliance, prevailing wage, and public contracts.
• Strong client-facing leadership and relationship development.
• P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
• Proficiency in Procore, CMiC, Textura.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Oversight: Provide executive-level direction across multiple high-value design-build projects while ensuring compliance and alignment with client goals.
• Client Relations: Serve as the primary contact for senior client representatives, maintaining relationships and satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
• Financial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, profitability, risk analyses, and financial reporting with project controls.
• Contract & Risk Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with owners, consultants, and subcontractors; ensure NYC procurement and MWBE compliance.
• Business Development: Partner with leadership to pursue public-sector opportunities and growth.
• Operational Excellence: Drive project team performance, ensuring schedule, safety, quality, and regulatory adherence.
• Mentorship: Guide Project Managers and senior staff for talent development and succession planning.

Job description

The Senior Project Executive is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of public-sector design-build projects in New York City. This role provides strategic leadership across project execution, client relations, contract negotiations, financial oversight, and business development. The Senior Project Executive serves as the primary client-facing leader, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with NYC procurement and MWBE and diversity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Oversight: Provide executive-level direction across multiple high-value design-build projects, ensuring alignment with firm objectives, client goals, and public-sector compliance requirements.
• Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for senior client representatives, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
• Financial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, and profitability for assigned projects; lead margin optimization, risk analysis, and financial reporting in collaboration with project controls.
• Contract & Risk Management: Negotiate, review, and manage contracts with owners, consultants, and subcontractors; ensure compliance with AIA contract documents, NYC public procurement regulations, and MWBE goals.
• Business Development: Partner with executive leadership to identify and pursue new public-sector opportunities, leveraging client relationships to support growth.
• Operational Excellence: Drive project team performance, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety standards, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and leadership to Project Managers and other senior staff, supporting talent development and succession planning within the firm.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior leadership role.
• Experience delivering high value design-build projects, projects delivered for government entities are preferred.
• Proven track record delivering public-sector projects in NYC (DDC, SCA, NYCHA, DEP, or similar agencies).
• Strong knowledge of NYC procurement processes, MWBE and diversity compliance, prevailing wage, and public contract requirements.
• Demonstrated success in client-facing leadership roles with the ability to develop long-term relationships.
• Expertise in financial oversight, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
• Proficiency in construction management software: Procore, CMiC, Textura, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• DBIA or Associate DBIA certification.
