Job summary

SIMPLY STAFFED in Nashville is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead large-scale, complex technical projects in the food processing industry. You will oversee design, development and implementation of innovative solutions and may guide a team of engineers directly or indirectly.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience and strong project management, AutoCAD and Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with team development.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
• Project Management and Contract Administration skills; knowledge of national codes.
• Travel up to 50% and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and oral communication, planning, teamwork, and adaptability.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects is desirable.
• Knowledge of food processing and meat industry engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, specs, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs meet codes and validate field work.
• Review submissions for accuracy.
• Direct vendors and contractors for project execution.
• Coordinate schedules with plant personnel and vendors.
• Plan layouts with vendors to meet utility needs.
• Maintain documentation and vendor contacts.
• Define scope, prepare proposals, and evaluate bids.
• Prepare reports on project status and budgets.
• Monitor installations to meet specs and budget.
