Job summary

AAK is seeking a Project Engineer for our Richmond, California plant to support operations through design modifications to equipment and processes. The role includes capital project execution, process improvements, and guiding contractors to completion.

This on-site position emphasizes safety, collaboration, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering background with 10+ years of project-based experience, strong heat transfer, fluid transport

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical preferred).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in project-based engineering with capital project execution.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid transport and reaction chemistry.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time to US and foreign destinations.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Performs process studies to identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and energy efficiency.
• Presents results to management both verbally and in written reports.
• Engineering: executes capital projects managing schedule, scope and costs.
• Manages project finances, with a strong control of scope and schedule deviation.
• Provides oversight of contractor(s) process design performance.
• Participate in planning for plant commissioning & start-up.
• Provide consulting on process questions as a member of the start-up team.
