Job summary

Actalent in Lyndhurst, VA seeks a Project Engineer to lead large-scale industrial refrigeration projects from concept through commissioning. You will manage scope, budget, and schedule while coordinating multiple trades and serving as the primary client liaison.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5–7 years’ experience with strong leadership, CAD proficiency, and the ability to manage turnkey systems nationwide. Onsite with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BSME preferred and relevant experience in large-scale refrigeration projects.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage scope, cost, and schedule.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale refrigeration construction projects from award through commissioning.
• Serve as primary client contact and coordinate with owners and general contractors.
• Review contracts to ensure alignment with scope and obligations.
• Collaborate with multiple trades to maintain quality and schedule.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and staffing plans.
• Procure materials and manage vendor relations for cost-effective procurement.
• Oversee change orders and manage project risks and compliance.
• Track engineering progress and ensure deliverables align with goals.
• Coordinate with purchasing to monitor orders and deliveries.
• Provide weekend/evening support as needed for field activities.
