Job summary

System One in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a direct-hire role. The position offers a compensation range of $120,000 to $125,000 annually plus a bonus, with a 90/80 schedule.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of capital projects, develop equipment specifications, and create PFDs and P&IDs while coordinating with Controls Engineering and field teams on site. Requirements include a BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least five years of industrial experience, OSHA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.
• TWIC card is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local/state regulations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Determine requirements and select equipment for sulfuric acid regeneration systems (furnaces, converters, boilers, compressors, cooling towers, pumps).
• Perform detailed heat transfer and hydraulic calculations for fluids.
• Size components like valves, pumps, ducting, and piping across project phases.
• Create equipment spec sheets and develop/update PFDs and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineering to define functional and operational statements.
• Lead full lifecycle of capital projects, including scope, cost estimates, and appropriation requests.
• Own project budgets with cost tracking and forecasting.
• Provide on-site field management during construction and turnarounds.
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, codes, and safety policies.
