Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Project Engineer for heavy civil highway and bridge work in the Atlanta area. You will lead engineering tasks on DOT projects, coordinating with design teams and in-field staff to deliver critical infrastructure programs.

Ideal candidates have hands-on submittals, RFIs, cost reporting, and scheduling experience with Primavera P6, plus a willingness to relocate to Atlanta. A strong path to Project Manager is highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• GDOT or state DOT experience is a plus; bridge experience is a plus.
• EIT or PE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor field engineers on the team (Senior PE).
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the field.
