Job summary

MDS Staffing represents a large national heavy civil contractor seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer for highway, bridge and infrastructure projects around the Atlanta, GA area. You’ll lead the engineering scope, manage submittals, schedules, cost reports and field coordination, with a clear path to Project Manager.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years for Senior PE or 2+ for PE in heavy civil with DOT exposure, a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, proficiency in

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects; 5+ years for Senior PE.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• EIT or PE certification is a plus.
• Based in the Atlanta area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Mentor the field engineers on the team (Senior PE)
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the field
