SteveRecruiter, LLC in the Atlanta area is seeking Senior Project Engineer / Project Engineer for heavy civil highway and bridge work. You will lead the engineering scope on DOT projects, coordinating with owners, inspectors and design engineers, and mentoring field staff.

This role offers opportunities to grow from Project Engineer to Senior Project Engineer and on toward Project Manager, with a strong backlog and large-scale highway projects in the Southeast.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Willingness to relocate to the Atlanta area if not local.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Mentor the field engineers on the team (Senior PE)
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the field
