Job summary

Sora Resource Group in Atlanta, GA area is seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer for highway and infrastructure work. You will run the engineering side of your scope on highway, bridge and DOT projects, coordinating with owners, inspectors and design teams.

This role offers a clear path to Project Manager, a strong backlog, and opportunities to lead submittals, schedules and cost reporting in Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required.
• 2+ years in heavy civil highway/bridge/DOT projects (5+ for Senior PE).
• Experience with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports, and change orders.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Office; GDOT or state DOT experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the field engineers on the team (Senior PE).
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the field.

A large national heavy civil contractor is hiring Senior Project Engineers and Project Engineers for highway and infrastructure work in the Atlanta area. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with heavy civil experience who wants big projects, a deep backlog and a real path to Project Manager. You'll run the engineering side of your scope on highway, bridge and infrastructure projects, much of it state DOT work. Atlanta locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What We're Looking For

• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office
• GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus
• Bridge experience is a plus
• EIT or PE is a plus
• Based in the Atlanta area or ready to relocate
