Job summary

Parsons is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Federal Solutions team. You will lead the engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for medium-size projects, coordinating among disciplines, procurement, and construction planning to meet schedule and budget targets.

Responsibilities include ensuring technical excellence, reviewing change orders, and preparing reports for clients and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years related field engineering experience.
• Professional registration such as PE or PMP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Integrates engineering, scope, budget, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up aspects of a medium-size project.
• May manage a subtask of a larger project in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Ensure technical excellence of engineering functions, coordination of technical disciplines, procurement, and construction planning.
• Develops scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements and monitors progress.
• Interfaces with Procurement and subcontracts for procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors; participates in bid analysis.
• Reviews work to ensure applicable codes, standards, and quality.
• Monitors productivity and proficiency of assigned technical personnel; reassigns as needed.
• Provides training and development opportunities for personnel.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary technical personnel and support groups within the company.
• Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, and controlling execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions.
• Determines technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion.
• Monitors productivity and proficiency; ensures client criteria and scope are met.
• Expedites distribution of action items after client discussions and with the Project Manager.
• Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and activity documentation for client and project management.
