Job summary

Pence Contractors in Portland, OR is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the project team in managing construction projects, client relationships, and subcontractor coordination. You will help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and safely, maintaining strong relationships with owners, consultants, and field teams.

The SPE will lead day-to-day operations, participate in pre-construction activities, and drive successful delivery across multiple job sites while upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in construction field accepted
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with construction software platforms
• Proficient at all Project Engineer responsibilities
• CPR and first aid certifications and OSHA 10 training required
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor interns and field/project engineers
• Managing project risk and profitability
• Oversee bidding, GMP development, and scheduling
• Coordinate QA/QC and project documentation
• Manage procurement, submittals, RFIs, and change management
• Oversee monthly owner billing and cash flow
