Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit, is seeking a Project Engineer to support construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing processes to manage project KPIs.

The role will provide project support to a Project Manager and manage staff to facilitate project management. The position requires a Bachelors degree in a construction-related field and 7+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience and education in project or field engineering.
• Leadership, communication, planning, organization, delegation, mentorship capabilities.
• Experience leading project engineering functions and coordinating with design teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
• Review, analyze and resolve design/construction problems with design team, project leadership, client, and contractors.
• Ensure all project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support schedule development.
• Create and manage a contract execution plan.
• Provide technical support for construction including design interpretation and constructability reviews.
• Develop, implement, and administer document control program and maintain design documents for on-site operations.
• Manage submittal tracking, project logs, and documentation to support project management.
• Represent the company in design review meetings and coordination meetings with contractors.
• Assist leadership with scopes of work for subcontracts and vendor purchase orders.
• Oversee master schedule updates using scheduling software with input from PM staff.
• Oversee Contract Administration team and change of conditions processes.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Promote and support environmental health and safety programs at project level.
• Manage project team and provide necessary support.
• Develop contract closeout plans and deliverables for on-time completion.
