Job summary

Barton Malow in the Charleston, South Carolina area seeks a Project Engineer to support daily operations, coordination, and safety on active construction sites. You will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, design partners, and trades to keep work on schedule and aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2-6 years of professional construction experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage documentation.
• Effective communicator across diverse teams.
• VDC/BIM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project coordination and technical support to resolve and track issues.
• Liaise with architects, engineers and owners on progress and coordination needs.
• Support superintendents in monitoring trade partner performance and schedule adherence.
• Assist with site logistics planning and day-to-day field coordination.
• Process and track submittals and RFIs for timely review and compliance.
• Prepare meeting agendas, document discussions, and lead coordination meetings.
• Assist with plan review and approval with municipalities across jurisdictions.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.
• Develop, update, and maintain the project schedule.
• Review contractor quotations for changes and process change orders.
• Promote and enforce corporate safety policies on the jobsite.
