Job summary

Collins Aerospace’s Mechanical Power Conversion unit in Rockford, IL seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and purchasing to implement new pump and gear box technologies.

You'll manage schedules and budgets, communicate with leadership, and apply fundamentals of machine design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and structural dynamics to accelerate new products to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced STEM degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to manage schedules and budgets and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of machine design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and structural dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, concise communications with leadership and peers.
• Identify mitigation plans for impacted projects and coordinate actions.
• Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
• Oversee and coordinate hardware development configurations during engineering process.
• Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate HW equipment modifications and ensure alignment with project plans.
