Job summary

Blattner is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead the transition from project award through final design, guiding internal teams and coordinating third-party engineers as the main technical contact for the Owner.

You’ll provide the construction team with the plans and details needed to build energy storage, solar, transmission, and substation projects, and you’ll mentor engineers to advance technical excellence across Blattner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
  • Five or more years of progressive engineering, supervisory, and/or construction/field related experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate preferred; PE licensure on hire preferred, with emphasis on electrical engineering.

  • Manages and directs multiple third-party design firms working towards Issued for Construction Drawings for electrical, civil, and structural designs.
  • Manages RFIs and design changes and supports commissioning and as-builts. Supports the project design by ensuring the design meets contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinates and leads design reviews at each design milestone with owner, owner third party engineer, Company, and third-party personnel.
  • Performs the overall coordination and integration of technical activities in engineering projects and services. Directs, reviews, or approves project designs and technology integration.

STEP INTO THE ROLE
  • Manages and directs multiple third-party design firms working towards Issued for Construction Drawings for electrical, civil, and structural designs.
  • Manages RFIs and design changes and supports commissioning and as-builts. Supports the project design by ensuring the design meets the contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirement from Client, Company, and Industry Specifications and Standards.
  • Coordinates and leads design reviews at each design milestone. Design reviews will include owner, owner third party engineer, Company, and third-party personnel.
  • Performs the overall coordination and integration of technical activities in engineering projects and services. Directs, reviews, or approves project designs and technology integration.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited college required.
  • Five or more years of progressive engineering, engineering supervisory, and/or construction/field related experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation) required.
  • Prefer that the candidate holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate upon hire. May be required to obtain EIT within 1 year of hire for future opportunity to become a licensed PE. PE licensure upon hire is preferred, with an emphasis on electrical engineering.
